
HEE HAW {ED MCMAHON, THE BELLAMY BROTHERS} (TV)
Summary
One in this series of comedy/variety shows, featuring sketch comedy and country-and-western music. The program, featuring guests Ed and Victoria McMahon, opens with jokes about welfare recipients and the Hummin' Hee Haw Harmonica Players performing "Golden Flipper." Highlights include the following: a spoof of a consumer advocate show; an animated chicken; Nurse Goodbody getting pawed over; the Bellamy Brothers performing "What She Needs Is (Sugar Daddy)"; news from radio station KORN about escaped convicts and streaking; a series of jokes in the cornfield with cast members and the McMahons; a performance of "Rawhide" by Marty Stewart on mandolin, Jimmy Henley on banjo, James Hill on guitar and Roy Clark on the fiddle; sketches set at the post office and a service station; Buck Owens performing "I Drank Beer From Old Milwaukee"; the Rev. Grady's tale of a Baptist preacher with a twisted tongue; Canela Hutton performing "Livin' on Tulsa Time"; a series of ditties on strings by Buck and Roy, interspersed with jokes by the McMahons; a film about a bicycle equipped with a clock radio, a CB radio, and a television set, created by viewer Grady Daniel; a performance of "Dancing Cowboys, Singing Horses" by the Bellamy Brothers; a performance by Minnie Pearl and the All-Jug Band; a sketch about moonshine, set in a barber shop; Lisa the Weather Girl and her talking weather map; Buck and Ray performing "The Columbus Stockade Blues"; an animated skunk; and sketches set in a haystack, a hotel, and a general store. Also, McMahon tells a brief story and performs the song "Ci-gar-eettes and Whooskey and Wild, Wild Women." The program concludes with the cast's farewell song. Commercials deleted.
