ALFRED HITCHCOCK PRESENTS: THE GLASS EYE (TV)
Summary
One in this dramatic anthology series hosted by Alfred Hitchcock. In this episode, a young man and his wife are cleaning out the home of the man's late sister Julia when he stops to recount a story involving a mysterious glass eye. A flashback sequence shows how Julia, a lonely spinster, became infatutated with Max Collodi, a celebrated -- but oddly immobile -- ventriloquist. As time went on, Julia grew increasingly obsessed with the reclusive puppeteer, following him all over Europe and writing him letters asking for a meeting. At last, the voice-thrower agreed to a brief rendezvous in his hotel room. Overcome with emotion at finally meeting the only man she ever loved, Julia reached out to touch him -- and discovered the surprising truth about Max Collodi. Commercials deleted.
