BONANZA: THE HORSE TRADERS (TV)
Summary
One in this long-running, western drama series about widower Ben Cartwright, his sons, and their adventures on their ranch in Nevada's Ponderosa. In this light-hearted episode, Hoss and Little Joe, hoping to make a quick profit, decide to sell some horses. But the business venture introduces them to some unsavory and wily characters. The Cartwright boys eventually become caught in the clutches of the shrewd Luke Calhoun, who has bought up all the livery stables in Carson City. After they are duped by Calhoun and his clan, the boys decide to retaliate. With the help of their new ranch hand, Dusty Rhodes, they open their own livery stable to compete with their unscrupulous nemesis; the rivalry leads the Cartwright brothers into a string of maddening encounters with Calhoun. Meanwhile, turmoil develops when Calhoun's daughter, Meena, learns that her father's cunning business venture was conceived by her seemingly doltish fiance, Virg. Dusty's inspirational idea and a series of surprising revelations, however, resolve the conflicts. Commercials deleted.
