Summary
The final episode in this long-running western drama series about widower Ben Cartwright, his sons, and their adventures on their ranch in Nevada's Ponderosa. This final episode is written and directed by series regular Michael Landon. Tanner, a psychopathic killer with a compulsion for hunting humans, escapes from prison on the eve of his execution and begins to murder the inhabitants of remote regions of the Nevada plains. While travelling on business for the Ponderosa, Joe encounters the killer and -- unaware of the danger -- invites him to share his campsite for the night. Unarmed Joe awakens in the morning to discover that he is the prey in the deranged man's elaborate hunt. The armed killer gives him four hours to hide in the sage brush of the deserted terrain before the deadly stalk begins. Joe is pursued over ridge, rock, and river in a hunt that tests the skill, wit, and instinct of both men. Includes commercials.
