TWILIGHT ZONE, THE: ONE FOR THE ANGELS (TV)
Summary
One in this fantasy/science fiction anthology series hosted by Rod Serling. In this program, kindly sixty-nine-year-old sidewalk salesman Lew Bookman is visited by Mr. Death who informs the pitchman that his soul is to be claimed at midnight. Usually a purveyor of worthless baubles and trinkets, Bookman convinces his visitor to allow him to extend his life until he has made a "big pitch." Once Death grants him an extension, however, Bookman decides to never make another pitch, thus assuring himself immortality. Angered by this chicanery, Mr. Death instead decides to claim the soul of eight-year-old neighborhood girl, Maggie. To prevent the girl's demise, Bookman must summon all his ability as a peddler to delay Death from his morbid midnight appointment with the child. Commercials deleted.
