CBS RADIO MYSTERY THEATER: A LITTLE NIGHT MURDER (RADIO)

Summary

One in this dramatic mystery series involving murder, supernatural events, and psychological issues. In this episode, a mad killer has been murdering women around town, and Louise Goodman becomes his fourth victim. Just before finishing her off, the killer tells Mrs. Goodman that he is little Peter Jackson, although she does not remember him. After her death, he announces that target number five will be Miss Alice Maitland. At the police station, Captain Blake and Officer Lou ponder the case, but they have no ideas. The killer appears to have no motive. Alice Maitland goes to the police station to inform them that she has had a premonition that she will be the next victim. Lou visits Alice at her bookstore to question her further. While he is there, Jackson comes in with the intent of committing his fifth murder. Distracted by Lou's presence, the killer pretends to be interested in a book. Later, in a nearby diner, Lou sees Jackson again, this time making a phone call; he recalls that Alice has been receiving crank calls and begins to wonder. Soon he concludes that Jackson is the killer, but he has no proof. Under Lou's questioning, Alice recalls witnessing a past crime, and the detective begins to piece together the clues. Now, however, both he and Alice are in danger. Includes commercials and public service announcements. Public service announcements include John Wayne for the National Association for Retarded Children.
