GEORGE LOPEZ: SABES GAY, IT'S GEORGE'S FANTASY EPISODE (TV)
Summary
One in this comedy series, set in Los Angeles, in which comedian George Lopez plays family man "George Lopez." In this episode, George, frustrated by his bad day at work, meets up with Ernie at Thirsty's. Ernie encounters problems of his own when his would-be blind date quickly rejects him, and even Gina turns him down when he makes a desperate pass at her. George realizes that he has forgotten about "date night" with Angie and hurries home to her, but her frustration with him mounts when he refuses to talk to her about his problems at work. She points out that sharing one's feelings is essential to a healthy, intimate marriage, but he storms out and heads back to the bar to rejoin a despondent Ernie. Ernie declares that he is "giving up on women," and when George unintentionally drinks the tequila worm, he experiences a bizarre dream in which he and Ernie are a soon-to-be-wed gay couple and Angie is their unattached wedding planner.
Dream George is initially pleased with the idea of a relationship that involves lots of sports-watching and minimal discussion of feelings, though he soon finds that he actually does wish to talk about his work issue and turns to Angie for support. He explains that Jack humiliated him in front of the other workers after he made a dyslexia-related error, just as his third-grade teacher once did, and he is stunned by the emotional "breakthrough." He ends up kissing the "wedding planner," witnessed by a horrified Ernie, and though he attempts to go through with the wedding ceremony, he delivers his vows to Angie instead and realizes that she is his true love after all. He awakens just as the priest-slash-tequila worm, who curiously resembles Vic, breaks into a dance, and he gratefully hurries home from the bar with Angie, now fully committed to emotional communication. Left alone, Ernie heads for home, oblivious to the pretty's waitress' unexpected interest in him. Includes commercials and promos.
