GEORGE LOPEZ: GEORGE'S MOM FACES HARD TAMBIEN {SIXTH SEASON PREMIERE} (TV)
Summary
The sixth season premiere in this comedy series, set in Los Angeles, in which comedian George Lopez plays family man "George Lopez." In this episode, Benny is arrested for her participation in an armed robbery several decades ago, and George is stunned, mere moments later, to learn that Angie is pregnant. At the prison, George nervously tells Benny that he did not pay her bail, as he will lose his house in the likely event that she attempts to flee the country, but he promises to secure her a competent lawyer for the hearing in two weeks' time. Back at home, Max battles a hangover as Ernie reveals that the factory is not moving to Mexico after all, and Angie reveals that Carmen was accepted to college, further complicating the family's money woes.
Two weeks later, Carmen prepares to depart for school early, as she has secured a job on campus, and Vic happily reveals that he is officially engaged to the much-younger Lindsay. At her hearing, Benny's questionable lawyer Jonathon Martin urges her to "make a good impression," and Benny tells the judge about her apparently saintly behavior on the day of the robbery, much to George's annoyance. Angie confides to her father that she is not pregnant after all and is surprised at her own disappointment, and when the prosecutor displays indisputable evidence of Benny's involvement in the robbery, the judge says the trial date for three weeks hence. George returns home and, learning that he missed Carmen's departure for college, sadly reflects on his daughter's life and sudden maturity into adulthood. When Angie arrives, George emotionally declares that he is thrilled about the new baby, and Angie cannot bring herself to tell him the truth. Includes commercials and promos.
