GEORGE LOPEZ: GEORGE NIECES A NEW MEDIA ROOM (TV)
Summary
One in this comedy series, set in Los Angeles, in which comedian George Lopez plays family man "George Lopez." In this episode, George excitedly transforms Carmen's old room into a state-of-the-art "media room" with a plasma-screen TV, but he is annoyed when his twenty-one-year-old niece Veronica arrives and begs to live with them for a period while she attends fashion school. Angie overrules George and allows Veronica to stay in the room, but they are all taken aback when she invites her much-older professor boyfriend Mike to stay overnight. The family visits an embittered Benny in jail for her birthday, but when Veronica excitedly shows off a present from Mike, Benny realizes that he is in fact a married man. Veronica tells an alarmed George and Angie that the adulterous relationship is merely "casual," but Mike soon arrives at the door, declaring that he has left his wife and is madly in love with Veronica.
Veronica hastily ends the relationship as George observes that Angie enjoys fixing others' "drama," and they awkwardly attempt to convince a distraught Mike to return to his wife. Mike continues to hound Veronica with calls and gifts, however, refusing to let her go, and when he unexpectedly turns up in her bedroom, George is forced to defend his niece and ends up breaking his beloved plasma TV in the scuffle. Mike is arrested and George, devastated by his "loss," demands that Veronica replace the TV with Mike's expensive present. Veronica assures her aunt and uncle that she has learned her lesson, though this seems doubtful when she reveals that she has already moved on with one of the policemen.
