GEORGE LOPEZ: GEORGE DOESN'T TRUSTEE ANGIE'S BROTHER (TV)
Summary
One in this comedy series, set in Los Angeles, in which comedian George Lopez plays family man "George Lopez." In this episode, George goes on a bike ride with Vic as Veronica works on her latest hobby, designing handbags. Angie is then frazzled to hear that Ray, her con-artist brother and Veronica's long-absent father, is coming for a surprise visit. When he arrives, Ray assures them all that he is "a different person" now and attempts to pay them back for his past dishonesty, though everyone seems doubtful that he has truly changed his criminal ways. Angie persuades Veronica to give her father another chance, however, and within a few days, Veronica happily reveals that she and Ray are going into the handbag business together and asks George, who controls her finances, to write her a check for $2 million out of her inheritance. George immediately suspects that Ray is manipulating her, but Veronica convinces her uncle to support her "dream."
George soon catches Ray trying to sneak out of the house with Veronica's check, revealing that he is conning her after all, and George orders him to prove his love for his daughter by telling Veronica directly that the business cannot go ahead, at the very least. In the morning, Ray awkwardly tells Veronica that he cannot currently come up with his half of the money and heads off for a "shareholders' meeting" in Miami, and Veronica quickly realizes that he was manipulating her yet again. She scolds herself for falling for it, but George assures her that she still has reliable family on whom she can count and encourages her to consider spending her inheritance on college instead. Later, Vic reveals that he too has been tricked by his wily son. Includes commercials and promos.
