GEORGE LOPEZ: GEORGE NEGOTI-ATE IT {FOURTH SEASON FINALE} (TV)

Summary

The fourth season finale in this comedy series, set in Los Angeles, in which comedian George Lopez plays family man "George Lopez." In this episode, George searches for his birthday gifts and, when the legal papers arrive, he and Angie officially become Jason's temporary legal guardians, much to Carmen's delight. Jason explains that he has had promising offers from several colleges to play football, though also has an opportunity to play professional baseball, and is having trouble making a decision. George is thrilled when NFL stars Donovan McNabb and Daunte Culpepper stop by to recruit Jason to their respective schools, though they make it clear that they are offering only scholarships, as anything more is forbidden. George intervenes when South Kentucky State sends Jason a number of gifts, aware that Jason himself cannot accept them according to the rules, and Carmen celebrates when George explains that Jason has settled on USC, glad that he will be staying nearby. When the USC rep stops by, however, he points out that George, as Jason's legal guardian, is also prohibited from accepting the gifts, meaning that George has likely ruined Jason's chance to play professional football anywhere.

George admits the truth to Carmen, who is outraged that her boyfriend will have to leave town after all, and George, determined to remedy the situation, appoints himself Jason's "agent" and haggles with the baseball rep for a higher signing bonus, pretending that USC is still offering a competitive price. Jason's anger evaporates when he learns that George secured him a cool half-million, though Carmen is heartbroken to learn that he will be moving to Georgia after all. At George's birthday party, Vic reminisces about his own "athletic" past and Angie surprises George with a guitar and personal lessons from Los Lobos star Cesar Rosas, though the party comes to an abrupt halt when Carmen arrives and announces that she is engaged to Jason. She explains that she is moving to Georgia, where marriage is legal for underage girls – if they are pregnant. Includes commercials and promos.
