GEORGE LOPEZ: GEORGE SEARCHES FOR A NEEDLE IN A HAIGHT-STACK {FOURTH SEASON PREMIERE} (TV)

Summary

The fourth season premiere in this comedy series, set in Los Angeles, in which comedian George Lopez plays family man "George Lopez." In this episode, George experiences a bizarre dream in which Carmen, who has run away from home, is revealed to be pregnant with Carrot Top's child. He awakens to find that Angie has managed to get Carmen on the phone, though she hangs up before revealing that she is in San Francisco with Zack Powers. At work, Mel carefully locks George behind a gate before revealing that Zack has returned on his own, having been ditched by Carmen at a nightclub, and George furiously demands to know his daughter's whereabouts. He soon prepares to travel to San Francisco to retrieve her, annoyed to learn that Vic will accompany him, and Angie begs him not to treat their daughter harshly despite her reckless actions.

George and Vic spend two weeks papering San Francisco with missing-person flyers before someone finally calls and tells them that Carmen has been spotted in a high-end hotel suite. Relieved, they hurry to the spot and find her partying with rap star Chingy and his groupies, and Chingy quickly steps aside when George points out that she is a mere fifteen years old. Back at home, Angie tries to start a calm conversation with her angry daughter, though Max is eager to see his sister punished. Carmen complains that her parents are too controlling, though George counters that she should be grateful to have attentive parents at all and demands to know just what she and Zack got up to during their time alone. Carmen swears that she is still a virgin, saying that George "raised her better than that," and father and daughter finally make up as George realizes that he may have made some mistakes of his own. Carmen, however, then informs them that she is a grown-up and will no longer abide by their strict rules, and George and Angie realize that their troubles with her are far from over.
