DARIA: THE INVITATION (TV)
Summary
One in this animated comedy series about dry-witted teen Daria Morgendorffer and her adventures with her family and classmates. In this episode, Joey, Jeffy and Jamie hit on Quinn, as usual, and Daria does well in art class, though Brittany struggles with the concept of perspective. Daria attempts to explain it to her, and the other students discuss Brittany's upcoming party, to which all of the popular kids are naturally invited. Quinn decides to attend with all three boys in order to choose a boyfriend, and Brittany invites Daria out of gratitude for her help. Daria tells Jane about the party, doubtful that she will attend, though Jane sees an artistic opportunity. Quinn is distressed to learn that her uncool sister is invited too, but their mother urges Daria to go and "keep an eye" on Quinn. At the party, Kevin reassures a nervous Brittany, and Trent drops off Daria and Jane, who fool the negligent security guard into letting them inside. Chuck greets the girls and gives them a tour of the home, concluding with the "makeout room," and two male students attempt to flirt with them, but Daria and Jane are unimpressed as ever.
The party soon gets out of hand as more guests arrive, and as Quinn's three "dates" pursue her aggressively, Jane makes a potential love connection of her own. Daria tells the boys embarrassing stories about Quinn, and Quinn eventually bribes her to leave them alone. As an angry neighbor arrives to complain about the noise, Quinn turns down all three guys, and they end up in a fight over her. The cops arrive to break up the party, and Daria and Jane briefly take over the post of security guard. As the guests scatter, Jane, Daria and Quinn are forced to accept a ride from the lecherous Chuck, as Quinn's suitors have abandoned her. Commercials deleted.
