GEORGE LOPEZ: WHAT GEORGE DOESN'T NOAH ... / NOW GEORGE NOAH'S EX-ZACK-LY WHAT HAPPENED {THIRD SEASON FINALE} (TV)

Summary

The third season finale in this comedy series, set in Los Angeles, in which comedian George Lopez plays family man "George Lopez." In this two-part episode, George forgets about Benny's birthday yet again and is relieved to find that Zack, the boss' troublemaking son, has officially been fired. Carmen is frustrated when George and Angie demand to meet her new boyfriend, Noah, though he quickly wins them over with his polite demeanor when he comes over for dinner. However, George then spots a text message on Noah's phone suggesting that he is cheating on Carmen, and Angie is annoyed when he attempts to indirectly lecture the boy at the table. Though Noah assures them that he cares for Carmen, George and Benny decide to follow him when he leaves their home, and when they trail him to a movie theatre, they are shocked to see him being affectionate with another boy. Back at home, Max frets that he has failed an important end-of-year test, and George and Benny tell Angie about Noah's secret and wonder how best to tell Carmen that her boyfriend is deceiving her.

In the morning, Zack sneaks into Carmen's bedroom for a visit, revealing that they are in a secret relationship and Noah is in fact the decoy. He quickly hides when George stops by to talk to his daughter, leading to some confusion when George tells her that her boyfriend is "in the closet." Carmen feigns shock at the "news," but when Noah stops by to pick up his "girlfriend," George and Angie confront him and he inadvertently spills the beans on Carmen's ruse. Horrified that their daughter is dating a delinquent, they search Carmen's room for hints about the relationship and, acting on a tip from Max, who is still worried about his graduation status, find her diary and learn that Carmen is considering intimacy with Zack. Elsewhere, Randy returns from a soul-searching trip in the desert and declares that he is finally ready to marry Benny, but she angrily rejects him, still furious about his last-second change of heart. George talks with Mel and tries to explain why he disapproves of the kids' relationship, but Mel seems unprepared to take a firm hand with his wayward son. Desperate, George confronts Zack directly and orders him to end the relationship, but Zack taunts him with suggestive comments and makes it clear that he only wants Carmen for sex.

Carmen is outraged to find that her parents have invaded her privacy and declares that the relationship will continue, refusing to believe that Zack's motives are anything less than sincere. The fight escalates and George threatens to kick Carmen out of the house, though they are interrupted by a jubilant Max, who reveals that he is graduating after all. Later, Carmen apologizes to her parents and promises to break up with Zack after all, and George boasts to Angie that he has mastered "natural parenting." Randy arrives and makes one last desperate bid for Benny's heart with the help of his old friends, The Commodores, and George is highly entertained by their performance of "Brick House." Later, George, Angie and Benny proudly attend Max's graduation ceremony, though they are then shocked to learn that Carmen has run off with Zack. The police prove somewhat unhelpful, and George, wracked with guilt and memories of his young daughter, resolves to find Carmen himself. Includes commercials and promos.
