KING OF QUEENS, THE: DARK MEET (TV)
Summary
One in this comedy series about parcel delivery man Doug Heffernan, who lives in Queens, New York, with his wife Carrie and his father-in-law Arthur. In this episode, Carrie prevents Doug from snacking on her Thanksgiving dishes ahead of the holiday, and their friends are suitably impressed with the meal. Carrie recalls her first Thanksgiving with Doug, though they disagree about who told whom "I love you" first, and Arthur proves unhelpful in recalling the truth. Back in 1993, a nervous Carrie prepares to introduce her boyfriend of six months to Arthur and his current wife Lily, while elsewhere Doug tells Spence and Deacon about his plans to finally drop "the L word." Doug arrives at Carrie's house and overhears Arthur and Lily's heated argument from outside, and when Carrie tries to make peace, Doug ends up dining alone with Lily.
Arthur hides in the bathroom, refusing to face his wife, and Doug ends up meeting his future father-in-law under highly embarrassing circumstances. Carrie, hiding outside, is sure that Doug has been scared off by her "crazy farm" of a family, though he complains that he was finally going to declare his love for her. Arthur, unimpressed by Doug, agrees that the relationship is clearly doomed, but Carrie, having overheard Doug's outburst, happily tells him that she shares his feelings. Back in the present, Carrie argues that she was still the one to say it first, thanks to Doug's thoughtless semantics. Commercials deleted.
