Cash opens with "Rock Island Line" and then introduces longtime friend Orbison, who performs "So Young (Love Theme From 'Zabriskie Point')" from the 1970 film, "Only the Lonely" and "Pretty Woman." Next, Cash welcomes Silverstein, who briefly discusses his work as a children's author and joins Cash on "A Boy Named Sue," which he wrote, followed by "Daddy, What If."
Cash discusses the history of the famous Carter Family singers, touching upon their first-ever recording, "Bury Me Under The Weeping Willow," and the prolific songwriting career of patriarch A.P. Carter, uncle of Cash's wife June Carter Cash. He also performs "I'm Thinking Tonight of My Blue Eyes," "Worried Man Blues," "Keep on the Sunny Side of Life," and "My Clinch Mountain Home."
Next, Cash performs "Folsom Prison Blues," after which Kenny Rogers and The First Edition perform "Ruby, Don't Take Your Love to Town," "But You Know I Love You," and "Reuben James." Cash and the audience are then invited to join the band on "On My Journey." Cash sing "I Got Stripes" and "The Long Black Veil," the Statler Brothers perform "Oh Happy Day," and Cash and the Carter Family join Rogers and The First Edition on "Johnny Christian." Cash then sings "How Great Thou Art," and closes the program with "I Walk the Line." Commercials deleted.
