GET SMART: THE LITTLE BLACK BOOK: PART 2 (TV)
Summary
Continued from B:78882. One in this comedy series about a bumbling secret agent.
In the second half of this two-part episode, Smart grudgingly agrees to allow Sid to accompany him on the mission to recover Gina's "little black book" – and they narrowly avoid death via a KAOS sniper with the use of a clever silhouette window shade. The two flee from the killers but end up caught by the police. Smart claims that his friend, who is ranting about spies and secret missions, is simply crazy. The two are detained and Sid is evaluated by a shrink, though Smart's father issues dominate the session. He finally manages to contact CONTROL and request legal assistance, though the lawyer is unable to help non-agent Sid – until he is formally deputized.
Once sprung from jail, Sid and Smart head out in search of Gina's intel and are eventually caught by Nancy, Zelda and the Maestro. Sid begins to second-guess his desire to be a secret agent as he and Smart are chained up to await their elaborate death via cannon, timed to the crescendo notes of "The 1812 Overture." Smart manages to escape his chains and "rewinds" the music far enough to give them time to cook up a plan. When the Maestro returns to check on his victims, he finds himself on the receiving end of the deadly cannon. Later, Smart recovers the little black book and celebrates with the Chief – and Sid and 99, who have apparently become a couple. Commercials deleted.
