GEORGE LOPEZ: GIRL FIGHT (TV)
Summary
One in this comedy series, set in Los Angeles, in which comedian George Lopez plays family man "George Lopez." In this episode, George finds that one of Carmen's classmates, Adam, is "obsessed" with her and determined to win her heart, though she is uninterested. When he catches the boy lurking in their backyard, he instructs him to "have some pride" and get over her. Later, Max reveals that Carmen has cut school, and Carmen admits that Adam, with the help of her former friend Piper, has been spreading rumors about her promiscuity. George decides to take immediate action, though Angie tells him that they must handle the situation calmly by meeting with a school mediator. When George meets the counselor, however, he recognizes him as Tommy "Rango" Durango, an intimidating bully from his own school days. Durango, who clearly still has anger issues, admits that he cannot punish Piper for her actions without an eyewitness and suggests that the conflict will "blow over" soon.
Carmen fights back when Piper again confronts her, and back at home George complains to Angie that Durango is seeking revenge against him personally, as George caused him to be expelled thirty years earlier for his aggressive behavior. Angie is upset to see that Carmen has been fighting, though George and Benny react with pride, and upon learning that her daughter has been suspended, Angie storms over to the school and confronts Durango about the unfair punishment. She and George "convince" Adam to tell the truth about Piper's behavior, and Durango promises to have her suspension reversed. Carmen, however, laments that she cannot return ever to school, as she now has an established reputation as a "slut," and George and Angie realize that they must look into private school to spare her the humiliation. Later, Ernie describes a very different and far more impressive version of his childhood encounters with "Rango." Commercials deleted.
