Summary
One in this comedy series about a group of regulars at a Boston bar.
In this episode, Sam and the others realize that Coach's "friend" George has been hustling him and taking his money over several months' worth of seemingly innocent card games. They resolve to use notorious trickster Harry to help even the score. Harry arrives at Cheers and, after bamboozling Cliff and Norm, explains that George is well-known for taking advantage of "dumb saps." However, he has no talent for poker. He agrees to pose as the "inside man" and requests $5,000 from an annoyed Sam; at the same time, Diane struggles to maintain control of the bar.
Sam, Norm, Cliff, Harry, and Coach invite George to join their "casual" after-hours poker game. The plan goes terribly awry when George begins winning hand after hand. At the end of the night, Sam guesses that the untrustworthy Harry must have told George of the plan with the intention of splitting the winnings. When confronted, George threatens to report the illegal game. Coach pleads for his friends' money back, after which George agrees to cut Harry out. Coach promises to give him a "sign" when Harry has a hand that can be beaten by three queens. George informs Harry that the others are "onto them" and challenges him to one last game. Harry wins it all when Coach, naturally, bungles the high sign. George furiously blows up at Coach for cleaning him out, but Coach then reveals that he and Harry were in cahoots all along. Amused, Sam then tries to make a not-so-tempting "bet" with a skeptical Diane. Commercials deleted.
