LOU GRANT: IMMIGRANTS (TV)

Summary

One in this series of dramas about a Los Angeles newspaper, its staff, and city editor Lou Grant. In this episode, the life of immigrants in America is examined when Animal's friend, Vietnamese photographer Tam, joins the staff of the Tribune. After heeding Animal's advice to hire Tam, Lou develops mixed emotions; he values the photographer's formidable talent but is unnerved by Tam's reluctance to adhere to the Tribune's rules. While Animal's close friendship with Tam's family allows insight into the difficult adjustment immigrants must make to assimilate in their new country, Rossi's investigative reporting about welfare fraud may link Tam to a seamier side of his new country.
