WILL & GRACE: GRACE 0, JACK 2000 (TV)
Summary
One in this comedy series about the friendship between Will Truman, a gay lawyer, and Grace Adler, a straight interior decorator.
In this episode, Jack arrives with news of his new cabaret show, "Jack 2000." Will then reveals that he had a fling with a street vendor, and Jack is thrilled with the gossip. Grace arrives home from a date with Will's boss Ben, declaring that she is breaking up with him despite their good times together. Will, once he acquires a fancy new desk chair from Ben, supports her plan. But when Grace tries to break up with Ben, he casually refuses to accept it and states that they are still together, leaving her baffled. At the opening night of "Jack 2000," the crowd, including Will and Karen, is unimpressed with Jack's songs and corny jokes, but he gets laughs when he spills the beans about Will's "date" and begins telling other embarrassing stories from Will's life. Will is furious at the betrayal, but Jack is pleased with the good reception and declares Will an "enemy of art" for objecting.
Grace attempts to dump Ben again, but fails to resist his charms. Jack spots a pair of handsome twins exiting Will's apartment and demands the story. Will refuses to tell him. That night, he puts on a lackluster performance at "Jack 2000," and Karen demands that Will assist him, saying he is dejected because of their fight. She implores Will to "show a little kindness." On the way to the show, Karen forces Grace to reconsider her relationship, and Grace is stunned to realize that she loves Ben; he then arrives and turns the tables by breaking up with her. Will goes backstage and tells the depressed Jack that nothing happened with the twins, but grants him permission to mine his personal life for desperately needed punchlines. Onstage, however, Jack opts not to embarrass his friend. After the show, Grace is saddened by her breakup, and Will attempts to "comfort" her with a singalong. Commercials deleted.
