WILL & GRACE: GYPSIES, TRAMPS AND WEED (TV)
Summary
One in this comedy series about the friendship between Will Truman, a gay lawyer, and Grace Adler, a straight interior decorator. Will, Grace, and Jack go out to a restaurant to celebrate Will's birthday. Jack gets him a Cher doll as a gift, which he promptly gives back to Jack. Grace gets him a coupon for a visit to a psychic, although Will is skeptical of such things. During the course of the evening, Grace becomes fed up with their rude waiter and complains to the management. As a result of her complaint, the waiter is fired and Grace feels terrible about it. The next day, she reveals to Karen that she hired the waiter, named Lenny, as a new office assistant out of guilt. Will visits the psychic, who makes predictions involving China and a reunion with a loved one with strawberry-blonde hair. Will doesn't take much stock in her predictions, but the next night he has dinner with Grace who trips and breaks her grandmother's China plates. In addition, Will receives a package from his mother containing a collar that belonged to his beloved dog Daisy before she passed away. Upon remarking on Daisy's strawberry-blonde hair, Will believes that the psychic's predictions came true and returns to her to find out about his love-life. However, he is horrified when he hears her prediction: that he will be spending the rest of his life with Jack. Grace believes that hiring Lenny was a good idea and stresses the importance of putting faith in people. Karen disagrees, calling Lenny a loser. Unbeknownst to either of them, Lenny is secretly selling marijuana in the office to Grace's clients. Will tells Grace about the psychic's prediction. Jack visits them, obsessively taking his Cher doll everywhere he goes. Will's fears of spending the rest of his life with Jack start to manifest. The next day, Grace arrives at her office to find a number of "clients" hoping to score from Lenny. She soon discovers Lenny's illicit activities. Will arrives at his apartment to find Jack already there, having just used his tub. When Jack gets too close, Will suddenly blurts out that he refuses to have sex with Jack, telling him about the psychic's prediction. Both of them are uncomfortable at the prospect of becoming a couple and decide to keep things the way they are. Later, Jack, Grace, and Will are out to lunch, and Jack has insisted upon bringing his Cher doll. Fed up with his fawning over the doll, Will and Grace leave. The real Cher appears and tells Jack to stop obsessing over the doll, but he mistakes her for a drag queen impersonating Cher. They proceed to compare their "impressions" of Cher until Cher gets fed up and slaps Jack into unconsciousness before leaving. Commercials deleted.
