Summary

One in this musical variety series hosted by the popular vocalist and pianist Nat "King" Cole, one of the first major black entertainers to host his own series. This episode guest stars songwriter Johnny Mercer and serves as a tribute to his work.

Musical numbers include: Cole singing Mercer's “Sitting on Top of the World” and Mercer's “Dream”; Mercer singing Cole's “Send for Me”; Cole singing Al Stillman and Paul Siegel's “My Heart Reminds Me”; Cole and Mercer singing Mercer's “Save the Bones for Henry Jones”; guest band The Cheerleaders singing a medley of Mercer’s music; and Cole singing Mercer's “Autumn Leaves.” Also, Cole does an in-studio commercial for Rheingold Beer, set to Mercer's song "Too Marvelous for Words." Includes commercials.
