DEXTER'S LABORATORY {DON'T BE A BABY; PELTRA; G.I.R.L. SQUAD} (TV)

Summary

One in this animated series about Dexter, a boy scientist with an extremely high I.Q. and a low level of patience for his ballet dancing older sister, Dee Dee. The first segment, entitled "Don't Be a Baby," begins when Dexter attempts to use one of his inventions to make himself and Dee Dee older so that they can go to see an R-rated movie. However, Dee Dee accidentally causes a malfunction which de-ages everyone in the world to infancy, including their parents. While Dee Dee looks after them, Dexter works to repair the device. Dee Dee falls asleep and loses track of her infant parents, who enter Dexter's lab. Infant Dad torments infant Mom with the laboratory's equipment. Dee Dee and Dexter eventually find them napping in Dexter's room. Dexter manages to repair his device and restore everyone to their proper ages. The second segment is "Peltra," one of the "Dial M for Monkey" backup segments. A gigantic meteor monster goes on a rampage but is stopped by Monkey. Afterwards he takes Agent Honeydew out on a date. Unbeknownst to him, Monkey has been targeted by Peltra, an alien who hunts down endangered species throughout the galaxy and uses their skins to make designer clothing. She and her minions attack Monkey and Honeydew; Monkey gains the upper hand but Peltra gets him to surrender by taking Honeydew hostage. Before Peltra can skin Monkey alive, Honeydew escapes and throws paint on him, enraging Peltra. She and Monkey manage to defeat Peltra. Back in Dexter's laboratory, Monkey shaves his fur to get the paint off, mystifying Dexter. The third segment, entitled "G.I.R.L. Squad," begins as an assembly is held at Dexter's school about looking out for neighborhood criminals. Everyone finds it quite dull except for Dee Dee and her friends Mee Mee and Lee Lee. They are inspired to form a crime-fighting trio to combat neighborhood crime, which they dub the "G.I.R.L. Squad." However, the girls are unsure of how exactly to fight crime. Dexter proves to be no help, simply teleporting them out of his laboratory when they visit him. They spot a mysterious individual skulking around the neighborhood and decide that he is a criminal, following him around. They ring doorbells to alert the neighbors and take objects from everyone's front lawns as evidence. They catch up to the "criminal" sawing a branch off of the tree beneath their tree house headquarters and pounce on him. The neighbors arrive to accuse the girls of criminal behavior themselves for disturbing them and stealing from their lawns. The "criminal" is revealed to be the neighborhood gardener.
