SPIN CITY: BACK TO THE FUTURE IV: JUDGMENT DAY (TV)

Summary

One in this comedy series about the Deputy Mayor of New York City and his co-workers at City Hall as they deal with problems both professional and personal. Michael's political mentor Owen is visiting the office to lend his aid to an upcoming municipal project. Owen reunites with Michael and reminisces about Michael's internship for him years ago. It soon becomes clear that Owen has become much more religious as of late. Carter leaves Rags in Paul's care while he's out. James takes Stacey's aunt Marie home with him and they make awkward romantic small talk. Stuart calls and reveals that he knows Marie is there. Paul accidentally knocks over a paperweight onto Rags, killing him. While speaking with Michael, Owen claims to be the messiah and that he is working to establish God's kingdom on earth. Michael soon realizes that Owen is not joking and tries to reason with him, but to no avail. Paul tricks Carter into opening a door onto the body of Rags, making it appear that Carter killed him. Michael wants to take Owen off of the project due to his messianic notions, but Owen convinces Michael to give him a second chance. James asks Stuart for advice about sex; he and Stacey recommend watching the film "9 ½ Weeks." Michael and the mayor soon find that Owen is still proclaiming himself to be the messiah and calling for death for infidels in a press conference. Stuart is heartbroken over the death of Rags. James attempts to replicate a striptease from "9 ½ Weeks" for Marie, but his attempt is cut short when Stacey walks in and takes Marie away. Stuart told her about Marie's presence and taunts James before leaving. Owen takes himself off the project, saying his true reason for visiting the office was to see Michael because he missed him. He reminds Michael of some advice he once gave him: "never think you know all the answers." As he leaves, Owen apparently resurrects Rags from the dead, much to Carter's joy, Michael's amazement, and Rags's disappointment. The episode ends as Paul accidentally reveals to Carter that it was he who killed Rags. Includes commercials.
