MOESHA: MOESHA MEETS BRANDY {SEASON FOUR PREMIERE} (TV)
Summary
The fourth season premiere in this comedy series about Moesha Mitchell, a vivacious African-American teenager living in Los Angeles with her father, stepmother, and wisecracking younger brother.
The summer ends, and Moesha is still dealing with the fallout from her father kicking her out of the house. However, she remains optimistic, especially now that she has a new boyfriend, Aaron, a college student. Niecy mocks her relationship with Aaron, leaving Moesha offended. Hakeem is going to see a Brandy concert and is quite excited, but discovers that Kim has not procured the tickets, hoping to purchase them on the night of the concert, apparently unaware that the concert is sold out. This angers Hakeem and Niecy, although Kim says she will figure something out; she half-jokingly suggests disguising Moesha as Brandy, noting the resemblance between the two, which Moesha denies. Aaron arrives and gives Moesha a present to celebrate their four-month anniversary. When he learns that they did not get the Brandy tickets, he instead invites her to spend the weekend with him at his parents’ cabin, although his parents will be absent. Moesha is unsure of whether she wants to go or not and tells Aaron she will think about it.
Moesha discusses the matter with Hakeem, Kim, and Niecy, who are convinced that Aaron intends to take her to the cabin for the purposes of having sex with her. Moesha insists that she will not do anything against her will, but the others believe she is deceiving herself. She notes that although she has never spent a weekend alone with a man before, she truly loves Aaron. Andell is frustrated that Moesha and her friends continue to mooch off of her and feels some small relief that Moesha may be going away for the weekend; Moesha lies and says she will be going with her classmates and that they will be chaperoned. Frank keeps pretending that he is not concerned about Moesha, and Dee unsuccessfully tries to convince him to speak to her five months after she moved out. Moesha arrives to pick up some things, and Frank goes out of his way to avoid her. Dee tells Moesha that despite appearances Frank misses her, but Moesha is unconvinced.
Aaron arrives and reveals that his fraternity brother Damon and his girlfriend Kelly will be accompanying them to the cabin, much to her frustration. Aaron assures her that everything will be fine, but there is immediate friction between Moesha and Kelly. Moesha also reveals to Aaron that she has changed her choice of college in order to be closer to him. Aaron believes that Moesha is moving too quickly in their relationship, and concludes that they should not go on the trip together after all. Moesha indicates that this may be the end of their relationship. She decides to accompany her friends to the Brandy concert, although she does not think that they will be let in. Their various attempts to deceive the guards are unsuccessful, but just as they leave Moesha is mistaken for Brandy by Ray J; she plays along with the deception and gets herself and her friends inside the concert venue. They go into Brandy’s dressing room and poke around; Moesha is left alone searching for her missing bracelet when Brandy arrives, quite surprised to find her there. Moesha frantically tries to explain her presence there, and Brandy becomes sympathetic towards her when she learns about her breakup that morning. Brandy performs her concert, with Moesha and company in attendance. Commercials deleted.
