DREW CAREY SHOW, THE: DREW'S DANCE PARTY (TV)
Summary
One in this series of comedies starring stand-up comedian Drew Carey as a single guy who attempts to juggle his romantic endeavors and his menial job at a Cleveland department store, while still maintaining his sense of humor. WNKW, Drew, Lewis, Kate, and Oswald's favorite radio station, is going off the air after forty years of broadcasting. They are saddened by its loss, having grown up with the station. The station holds an all-request night for its last day of broadcast, and they decide to stay up all night to phone in requests. However the line is busy and they cannot call in. Oswald remedies this by breaking into the station and bribing the DJ to allow him to run the control board. He plays all their favorite songs, until he is taken away by the police; he accidentally revealed his name and address on air, inadvertently allowing someone to break into his apartment. Interspersed throughout are musical selections from past episodes, including: Drew and some of the other guys performing a striptease scene set to the song "You Ain't Seen Nothing Yet" by BTO; the first-season "Drew Carey Show" introduction video set to "Five O' Clock World" by The Vogues; a clip of Drew, Oswald, Lewis, and Kate attempting to perform the song "A Taste of Honey"; a dance number set to "What is Hip?" by Tower of Power; the current "Drew Carey Show" introduction video, featuring "Cleveland Rocks" covered by The Presidents of the United States of America; a clip featuring a dance-off between two groups of people representing the films "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" and "Priscilla, Queen of the Desert," dancing to "Time Warp" and "Shake Your Groove Thing," respectively; a striptease number in a courtroom set to "Free Ride" by The Edgar Winter Group; and a parody of the title number of "42nd Street" set inside a refrigerator. Includes commercials.
