MARRIED . . . WITH CHILDREN: IT'S A BUNDYFUL LIFE {PART 2 OF 2} (TV)

Summary

One in this series of comedy programs about the ever-dysfunctional Bundy family.

Continues from B:52054. Al arrives home and confesses that he was unable to get the presents he promised. Peg, Kelly, and Bud, upset, abandon Al at home to go to Denny's. While setting up Christmas lights Al wonders what it would be like if he was never born. He accidentally shocks himself on one of the lights and falls unconscious. He is awakened by a man claiming to be his guardian angel. He has been assigned to Al, much to his displeasure. The angel reveals that like Al, he was a man in an unhappy marriage in life who killed himself due to his wife's infidelity. In accordance with Al's request, he agrees to show him what the world would be like if he was never born.

Al finds himself back in his house, except it is extensively decorated. His family is entirely different: Peg can cook and is genuinely cheerful, Bud is eloquent and respectful towards women, and Kelly is intelligent and uninterested in men. Al finds that Peg has married a kind, successful man named Norman Jablonsky, and is disgusted by the family's overly saccharine attitude. The angel believes he has failed in his mission to convince Al that he wants to live. However, Al surprises him and says he wants to return to his family; he notes how happy they are in a world without him and wants to make them miserable, just as they do to him. Al awakens in the real world surrounded by Peg, Kelly, and Bud as they usually are. He is overjoyed that they are back to normal and at their misery. The episode ends as Al overhears his guardian angel being refused back into heaven. Commercials deleted.
