BOY MEETS WORLD: THE WITCHES OF PENNBROOK (TV)
Summary
One in this comedy series about teenager Cory Matthews, who balances his theories on life and friendship against those of his off-the-wall Philadelphia-based family. In this episode, Jack and Eric plan to head out to a nightclub, but a pretty neighbor, Millie, takes an interest in Jack. When Eric returns home, he finds them kissing on the balcony, and Millie sternly tells Eric not to get in the way of their relationship. Despite Eric's sense that Millie is "creepy" and controlling, she and Jack begin dating, and her three roommates stop by to admire the apartment and the balcony. Eric is further annoyed when Millie interrupts his scary movie night, and Jack protests that he is happy and that his friend should be pleased for him. Elsewhere, Cory and Topanga plan to head off for a weekend in Pittsburgh, but Topanga is upset when Cory springs for plane tickets, as she is afraid of flying and has never done so before. Eric catches Millie performing Satanic Halloween rituals on the balcony, but she denies everything when Jack catches them and though Eric points out that Millie is clearly a witch, Jack defends her and declares that she is moving in for a few days.
Shawn appears unconcerned by the matter, and Millie confirms to Jack that she is indeed a witch, but assures him that it is "just a belief," then adding that they will be having a Halloween party at which he will meet "his new friends." Topanga is alarmed to see how small their plane is, and even Cory is disturbed when he learns that their pilot was once tutored by the less-than-brilliant Eric. Feeny hands out Halloween candy and Eric stops by, asking to crash at his house and explaining about the fight with Jack, but Feeny advises him to make Jack truly hear him. Cory calls Feeny for advice about his situation as well, shocked when Topanga overcomes her fears by taking over as co-pilot. The witch party gets underway and Shawn seems to enjoy himself, but the guests then tie up Shawn and Jack, with Millie that they need to sacrifice "hunters" in order to appease Satan. She reveals that she came between Jack and Eric on purpose, needing their balcony for her ritual, but Eric appears in their midst and saves his friends, having looked up a useful counter-spell. He orders the witches out and makes up with Jack, who is grateful for his intervention. Later, Eric goes on a date with a familiar-looking Sabrina, apparently unconcerned that Shawn has been turned into a frog. Includes commercials and promos.
