HOME IMPROVEMENT: THE KISS AND THE KISS OFF {SEASON SIX FINALE} (TV)
Summary
One in this comedy series about the host of a cable television fix-it show and his wife and three sons.
Randy asks his girl friend Lauren out on their first date for her birthday, and he is rather anxious about it. He is particularly concerned that their relationship is proceeding to a "higher level" that he does not fully understand. Lisa visits Tim and Al on the Tool Time set, and they are happy to see her. She has just received her paramedic certificate and is looking for work. Tim asks her to make a guest appearance on the show that Friday, although Heidi appears to be uncomfortable with this. Randy becomes unsure of how to act around Lauren, but Jill tells him that he's over-thinking the matter. Lisa makes her guest appearance on the show and Heidi is relegated to the background, much to her displeasure. Lisa even applies some of her medical training to treat a minor wound Tim sustains while working on a car, leaving Heidi with nothing to do.
That night, Heidi calls Tim and announces that she's quitting the show, surprising and distressing him. Jill points out that Heidi is likely upset because Tim never asked her how she felt about Lisa's return, and that he did nothing to allay her fears about being replaced or overshadowed. Tim tries to call her back to straighten thing out, but she does not answer. Randy experiences some difficulties on his date with Lauren due to his nervousness; the pen he got her as a gift leaks all over her, and he accidentally spills water on her dress. While she's in the ladies' room, Wilson appears and advises Randy to "be here now," i.e. to say what is on his mind and not worry about the mistakes he might make. He uses this advice to win over Lauren, and they kiss. Lisa tells Al and Tim that she has found a job as a paramedic, much to their excitement. Tim tells them about Heidi's decision to quit the show, and they tell him that Heidi is attending a mother-baby class with her infant daughter. Tim visits her there and tries to convince her to come back on the show. Heidi reveals that she feels her work is underappreciated, but Tim insists that it is not the case, noting her essential contributions to the show. When he tells her about Lisa's new job, Heidi instantly decides to return to the show. Includes commercials.
