SABRINA, THE TEENAGE WITCH: TROLL BRIDE {FIRST SEASON FINALE} (TV)
Summary
The first season finale in this comedy series about a teenage witch named Sabrina who lives with her two aunts, who are also witches, and their talking cat, Salem.
In this episode, Hilda bribes Salem to help her romance a handsome fireman. As Sabrina and Harvey fret about their upcoming biology final, they learn from Libby that they have been named the school's "cutest couple" – but that the title comes with the "curse" of a swift breakup. Harvey dismisses the claim, though Hilda and Zelda opt not to tell Sabrina that "curses count double for witches." When Sabrina loses her textbook, Salem recommends a finding spell, and Sabrina unwittingly signs a contract with a mischievous troll, Roland, who quickly locates the item – but then demands her hand in marriage as payment. Sabrina refuses, prompting Roland to follow her to school. Harvey grows annoyed when she is unable to explain the strange man's presence.
Hilda and Zelda summon a magical lawyer to find a loophole in Roland's ironclad contract; Sabrina, upset by the fight with Harvey, informs Roland that she will never wed him no matter what. Roland, feigning heartbreak, tricks Sabrina into following him back into the magical world, where he traps her in his castle. The lawyer finally determines that Sabrina can be legally rescued by a prince; though the first few applicants are not promising, Hilda and Zelda realize that Harvey, son of "the Termite King," technically counts as royalty. They give him a memory potion and quickly break the news of Sabrina's magical powers and perilous situation. He heads through the closet and finds Sabrina. They "vanquish" Roland together and head back into the non-magical world; Sabrina sadly enjoys her last few seconds of true honesty with Harvey before the potion takes effect and he forgets all about her witch identity. Later, Libby is annoyed to find that the couple has survived the "curse." Sabrina's aunts surprise her with an around-the-world trip when she aces her final. Includes commercials and promos.
