Summary
A reunion special celebrating the 25th anniversary of “Rowan & Martin’s Laugh-In,” a series of frenetically-paced comedy programs hosted by Dan Rowan and Dick Martin. The special features clips of interviews with the cast about the show’s history, comedic style, and its significance during the time period in which it aired. Also includes a series of excerpts from the show, including: a vaudeville-centric song-and-dance number; a series of “sock it to me” segments; a guest appearance by musician Tiny Tim; a comedy sketch between Rowan and guest star Johnny Carson concerning a “nudist flutist”; one of Lily Tomlin’s sketches involving her character “Ernestine”; selections from various “Fickle Finger of Fate Award” sketches; a series of outtakes; selections from various “Laugh-In Looks at the News” sketches; Rowan appearing in a sketch as the character “General Bull Right”; a radio theater sketch featuring a guest appearance by Orson Welles; one of the “Farkel Family” sketches; and an extensive selection of clips from the show’s “joke wall.” Commercials deleted.
