ADVENTURES OF SUPERPUP, THE: PILOT {UNAIRED} (TV)
Summary
The pilot to this unproduced spinoff series of “The Adventures of Superman,” featuring comedic canine versions of Superman and his supporting characters. The villainous Professor Sheepdip escapes from prison after being put there by Bark Bent, Pamela Poodle, and Superpup. The police alert Terry Bite, editor of the Daily Bugle, about the escape and he is concerned that Professor Sheepdip could seek revenge. Professor Sheepdip devises a powerful explosive, intending to use it against the Daily Bugle building. His crony infiltrates the building inside a grandfather clock, given the task of detonating a bottle of Professor Sheepdip’s explosive inside. Terry discovers the bomb and calls in Bark, who changes into Superpup and carries the grandfather clock out of the building, depositing it back at Professor Sheepdip’s hideout, where it explodes. Superpup returns to the Daily Bugle and changes back into Bark Bent. Professor Sheepdip lures Pamela out to his lair, where she is swiftly captured. Bark soon realizes what has happened and changes back into Superpup to rescue her. Professor Sheepdip straps Pamela to a rocket, intending to blast her off into space. Superpup arrives in time to save Pamela, and the rocket blasts off and strikes Professor Sheepdip and his henchman as they attempt to drive away, sending them careening off a cliff. Superpup assists in arresting them and sending them back to prison. Commercials deleted. (This tape contains audiovisual imperfections. It represents the best quality available at this time.)
