BRANDED: KELLIE {SERIES FINALE} (TV)
Summary
One in this dramatic western series about the adventures of Jason McCord, wrongly accused of cowardice and drummed out of the U.S. Army.
A robbery takes place in town and Jason shoots one of the thieves while the other three escape. The thief's daughter, Kellie, rushes to his side as he dies and swears vengeance on Jason, attempting to stab him with her knife. Jason can't track down the thieves. Kellie has nowhere to go and the sheriff says he will send her to an orphanage. Until then, Ann agrees to take her in, although Kellie is resistant to this development. Everyone in town distrusts her, believing she is a "wild little animal." The thieves lament how they didn't get the money and fear that Kellie may reveal their identities. They resolve to return to town, get Kellie back, and possibly try to steal the money again while they're there.
Jason is worried about Ann taking in Kellie and drops off a dress for her to wear. Kellie refuses the dress and goes to the McCord place to return it, but finds that Jason is out and the General is there. He tries to befriend Kellie and teach her about the importance of reading before she leaves. Later, Kellie gets into a fight with the local saloon owner and it turns physical. Jason steps in before Kellie can be seriously hurt and punches the saloon owner in the face. He remarks that neither Jason nor Kellie belong in town before retreating.
That night, Jason stays up to protect the money from potential robbery when Kellie comes to visit, unable to sleep. She believes Jason helped her to get the names of the other thieves out of her, but he insists that isn't the case. She explains that her mother died when she was very young, and subsequently her father lost his job and his house, forcing him into a life of crime. She insists that while he was a criminal, he was still her father and she hadn't given up on him. Kellie becomes emotional and starts crying, wondering if she can start a new life for herself after getting out of the orphanage. She leaves and is found by the thieves, who have snuck into town. They intend to shoot Jason in revenge and steal the money back, and Kellie helps them ambush Jason. They try to get Jason to open his safe for them, but Kellie creates a distraction which allows her and Jason to kill the thieves. The next day, the sheriff announces that Kellie can stay with Ann until her relatives are located. Kellie adopts a much friendlier disposition. Commercials deleted.
