LEAVE IT TO BEAVER: THE SHAVE (TV)

Summary

One in this comedy series about the Cleaver family -- Ward and June and their two sons, Wally and Theodore, known as "the Beaver."

In this episode, Wally has joined the football team. In his first game out, he manages to score a touchdown. In the locker room after the game, Eddie brags about having begun shaving, as does Chester. Wally feels left out because he hasn’t started. Later, Beaver catches Wally attempting to shave with Ward’s razor, leading to disastrous results.

Wally shows up at the dinner table with his face covered in bandages. Ward tells him not to worry about shaving just yet. However, Wally misinterprets Ward’s advice and starts shaving daily. When Eddie hears about Wally using a razor daily, he insists on seeing for himself. Ward catches Wally shaving and berates him in front of Eddie. The next day, Eddie relates the story to friends in school, embarrassing Wally. That night at dinner, Wally argues with Ward and goes to his room.

Ward confides in Beaver that he’s been upset with how Wally has been acting. Beaver helps him realize that disciplining Wally in front of Eddie was a bad idea. On the following weekend, Ward and barber Andy conspire to give Wally a shave in front of Eddie and his pals. As Ward and Wally reconcile, Ward tells his oldest son not to grow up too fast.
