LEAVE IT TO BEAVER: IN THE SOUP (TV)
Summary
One in this comedy series about the Cleaver family -- Ward and June and their two sons, Wally and Theodore, known as "the Beaver."
In this episode, Ward and June permit Wally to host a party for his friends on Friday evening. Later, Beaver is invited to spend that night at Whitey's. With Wally wanting Beaver to "stay out of his hair," June declares that everything has worked out for the best.
As Beaver and Whitey walk to Whitey's house, the two get into a debate about a billboard that advertises steaming-hot soup. Whitey insists that the sign's three-dimensional bowl contains actual soup since steam appears to be coming from it. Beaver disagrees, then climbs atop the sign when Whitey dares him to prove his point. When looking over the giant cup, Beaver falls in and can't get out. By evening, Whitey turns to his parents for help.
Meanwhile, Wally wonders why his guests are late to arrive at his party. When Lumpy finally rings the doorbell, he tells Wally that everyone stopped to look at "some kid who fell into a giant soup bowl." Ward goes with Wally to investigate. A fireman ultimately rescues a shame-faced Beaver from his dilemma, as an embarrassed Wally and concerned Ward look on.
The next morning, Beaver and Ward talk about the incident and reach an understanding about how Beaver should react next time someone issues him "a dare."
