Summary
This popular series of musical variety shows on ice was the first ice revue series on television, and introduced the now familiar Ice Follies, Ice Capades and Icelandia Skaters to home viewers. It premiered June 15, 1951 as a summer replacement series and became a sudden success. In September, the show moved to Wednesday nights at 8:00 p.m. and later that month was distributed coast-to-coast by Paramount Video Transcriptions. The October 3 show was sent cross-country by microwave network, a rare honor for a West Coast program.
