OCCASIONAL WIFE: OCCASIONAL TROUBLE (TV)

Summary

One in comedy series in which a bachelor tries to get ahead at work by hiring a casual acquaintance to pose as his wife when needed.

In this episode, Greta is angry with Peter when he insists on them having dinner with his mother at his apartment, despite the fact that she has a date. Things get worse when Mrs. Christopher arrives and is shocked to see Greta kissing her boyfriend goodbye.

Fearing that Peter is being cuckolded, Mrs. Christopher confides in Mr. Brahms. Although he defends Greta, Mr. Brahms hires a detective to investigate. When Greta realizes that she's being followed, she mistakenly thinks that the man is attracted to her. Meanwhile, Peter finds out from Mr. Brahms' flirtatious secretary about the investigation.

Peter and Greta plot to continue their setup, with their eighth-floor neighbor watching their antics in the midst of a poker game. Matters come to a halt when the detective tells Greta and Peter that he knows the marriage is a ruse. The detective admits that he's going to blackmail them for big bucks.

Peter then goes to the detective's office and finds out that he is married to a jealous woman. Peter subsequently asks Greta to lure the detective into a compromising situation, which Peter will photograph. The plan works and Peter gets a shot of Greta and the detective kissing.

The next day, Peter shows Greta his office, which a guilty Mr. Brahms has refurbished. As Mr. Brahms and Mrs. Christopher reveal their suspicions of infidelity, Peter is rewarded with a bonus check, which Greta immediately pockets. Includes commercials.
