Summary
The "BAFTA: Advertising Awards 1992, Tape 2 of 2" includes nine commercials selected for excellence in a variety of categories by the British Academy of Film and Television Arts. David Frost and Angus Deayton serve as hosts for this Awards ceremony held at London's Royal Albert Hall and broadcast on SKY Television. A number of actors, actresses, models and media personalities are on hand to present the awards, including Ann Bryson, Tom Conti, Ivan Fallon, Randy Savage, Moira Stuart, Rebecca Elmaloglou, Haydn Gwynne, Selina Scott, Richard Price and Hugh Hudson. Award-winning commercials for the following advertisers are included: Danepak, Car Crime Prevention, The Sunday Times, Midlands Electric, Barclays Bank, Vauxhall Astra, Boddingtons Cream of Manchester, Fosters Lager, and Forte. A brief montage is shown of commercials for Hovis bread, Lowenbrau and Guinness, which were directed by Ridley Scott, the recipient of BAFTA's 1992 "Lifetime Achievement Award." This montage also includes brief excerpts from Scott's films "Blade Runner," "Thelma and Louise" and "Black Rain." Scott conveys his appreciation to the Academy for the Award in brief remarks via satellite transmission from Los Angeles.
