NISSAN PATHFINDER: ROAD TO RIO SERIES/NATIVES
{ADVERTISING AGE: BEST TELEVISION COMMERCIALS OF
THE YEAR, 1988}

Summary

In this serial commercial for Nissan, Curt and Mary Anderson have reached the town of Macapa, Brazil after 29 days on the road from Chicago to Rio de Janeiro. Apparently their arrival marked the first time the natives living in this equatorial region had ever been filmed. They were fascinated by the Pathfinder's air conditioning system and Curt is pretty sure they liked his James Brown tapes as well. As the Indians gather around the Pathfinder for a serenade on bamboo flutes and percussion, Mary adds that "we liked their music even more." Slogan (supered): "Nissan. Built for the human race. To be continued..."
