AMERICAN EXPRESS: ISLANDS {ART DIRECTOR'S AWARDS: 1988}
Summary
In this commercial for American Express, a couple is shown preparing to board a flight home after a brief "second honeymoon." Suddenly on impulse, they decide that it would be more fun to fly to Greece, where they spent their "first honeymoon," rather than returning home. Since it's too late to retrieve their luggage, they charge airline tickets, new clothes, food, and lodging on their American Express card. As they relax on their hotel balcony overlooking the Aegean Sea, they wonder what the next ten years will bring. The classic Motown song "My Girl" by the Temptations, plays throughout on the soundtrack. Slogan (supered): "Membership has its privileges. American Express. Don't leave home without it."
