PHILIPS LIGHT BULBS: BOMB SQUAD {1987 ONE SHOW/1987 INTERNATIONAL BROADCASTING AWARDS}
Summary
In this commercial for Philips light bulbs, two soldiers are shown defusing a time bomb. When the soldier with the wirecutters hesitates, his superior officer tells him to cut the red wire. The announcer suggests switching to Philips because they last 33% longer than ordinary light bulbs. Slogan (supered): "It's time to change your bulbs. Philips." Several copies of this award-winning commercial can be found in the Museum's collection. Awards: 1988 New York Festival; 1988 Clio (U.S. Television/Cinema - National Campaign).
