WONDERFUL WORLD OF DISNEY, THE: OLAF'S FROZEN ADVENTURE (TV)
Summary
This animated musical short film, continuing the story of 2013's "Frozen," focuses on chatty snowman Olaf and his love of the holiday season.
As the kingdom of Arendelle prepares to celebrates its first Christmas in "Forever," Queen Elsa, Anna and Kristoff "Ring in the Season" by sounding the Yule Bell, brought into the town square by Kristoff and Sven. Afterward, however, the citizens all head off to celebrate their personal family traditions. Though Kristoff suggests "The Ballad of Flemmingrad," the orphaned sisters realize that they have no unique traditions of their own, prompting Olaf to recruit Sven and go door-to-door around the town, asking Arendellians to describe just how they celebrate "That Time of Year." Oaken offers up a portable sauna, but it ends up setting Olaf's sleigh on fire. It careens over a cliff, leaving him with no traditions to show his friends.
Back at the castle, Anna and Elsa make some interesting discoveries in their childhood trunks. When Olaf takes a "seemingly harmless shortcut" back to town, Sven desperately tries to alert his friends that the snowman has found himself trapped by wolves and lost in the forest. Elsa and Anna finally locate him; when he sadly reports that he has nothing celebratory to show them, the sisters explain that they have given each other homemade, snowman-themed gifts every year since childhood, meaning that he himself is their best tradition. Concluding that the holidays are special only "When We're Together," the citizens of Arendelle gather to admire a gleaming Christmas tree made of ice. Includes commercials and promos.
