KEY & PEELE: LES MIS {THIRD SEASON PREMIERE} (TV)

Summary

The third season premiere in this sketch comedy series, created by Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele, focusing on societal themes and race issues. In this episode, Key and Peele offer intermittent on-stage commentary on such topics as: stern and long-winded commentary from their older black fans; and how many men were fooled by their girlfriends into seeing the 2012 musical film "Les Misérables," which stars "Wolverine, Gladiator and Catwoman."

Pre-taped sketches include the following: a young black man's scary stroll through a white suburban neighborhood; the return of exasperated inner-city substitute teacher Mr. Garvey, who is outraged by his students' request to leave class early to take yearbook photos for their "clubs"; a rap battle featuring a wildly enthusiastic "hype man," who is eventually executed "Steinbeck-style" by his regretful rapper pal; a woman's alarming discovery of her boyfriend's "sick, twisted" Internet pornography habits; a parody of "Les Misérables," in which Jean Valjean is annoyed with everyone's refusal to speak their minds "one at a time"; President Obama's comments on the NSA's invasive policies, with help from Luther the "anger translator"; and an installment of "Metta World News" with basketball player Metta World Peace.
