MODERN FAMILY: CONNECTION LOST (TV)
Summary
One in this comedy series, a "mockumentary" about the eccentric individuals comprising three inter-related families in Los Angeles. In this episode, which takes place entirely on a computer screen, Claire is stranded at Chicago's O'Hare Airport after a work trip and struggles to contact Haley, with whom she has had a petty fight. Phil is distracted by Halo as Gloria gives Luke a much-needed haircut, and Claire suddenly remembers her brother's birthday and FaceTimes him, finding that Cam has gifted him with an unusual hat. Still determined to contact the missing Haley, Claire logs into her secret secondary Facebook account and flies into a panic when she sees that Haley has apparently changed her status to "married." She quickly contacts Dylan, Haley's on-off boyfriend, who claims to know nothing of any secret nuptials, but Haley's phone location reveals that she is apparently at a quickie wedding chapel in Vegas.
Gloria gives Luke an outrageous Mohawk as everyone begins to fear that Haley has impulsively married Jay and Gloria's dorky "manny" Andy, and matters grow worse when Phil finds that she has ordered the classic pregnancy book "What to Expect When You're Expecting." Claire frantically tries to "vet" Andy, though Jay points out that Claire too eloped with a "dipstick" after becoming pregnant in her twenties, leading to a happy family life with Phil and their kids. Haley finally calls her mother back, revealing that she has been asleep in bed all day, unbeknownst to the oblivious Phil and Alex. Annoyed at the many violations to her privacy, she exasperatedly explains the entire misunderstanding, stating that the Facebook "marriage" was a mere joke with Andy, in whose car she left her phone, and that the book is for her fashion-designer boss, who is targeting stylish "preggos." Claire is embarrassed to have jumped to dramatic conclusions, and she finally settles in to read – or at least skim – Alex's latest college essay. Includes commercials and promos.
