HERE'S LUCY: A HOME IS NOT AN OFFICE (TV)

Summary

One in this comedy series starring Lucille Ball as Lucy Carter, a single mother working for her brother-in-law Harry at his employment agency.

Harry struggles with the latest in his replacements for Lucy while she recovers from her leg injury, as each one is more incompetent than the last. He gets Lucy on the phone in an attempt to get assistance from her, but she hangs up on him. Kim arrives to help Harry out and she tells him that Lucy has to stay home and recover for another two weeks, delaying her return to the office. Harry visits her at her home and she apologizes for hanging up on him. He claims that he requires her presence at the office badly, and soon moves her office supplies and furniture into her home so that she can work for him from there. Lucy protests against this, although Harry claims he did it for her benefit.

Lucy intends to drive Harry out of her house by having her acapella group rehearse in her home. He attempts to get them to leave and gets into an argument with Lucy, who refuses to accede to his demand. However, he manages to intimidate the rest of the group into leaving. Lucy and Kim make another attempt to get Harry to leave by having Kim’s friends arrive disguised as painters and workmen doing repairs and improvements on the house. The scene is interrupted by a police officer looking for Harry, claiming that he is violating local ordinances by running a business out of a residential area. Harry believes that his arrival is part of Lucy’s schemes and tries to physically shove him out of the house, but the officer is genuine and arrests Harry. Commercials deleted.
