BROTHERS & SISTERS: WALKER DOWN THE AISLE {SERIES FINALE} (TV)
Summary
One in this drama series about the California-based Walker family, an adult clan of siblings trying to live up to their parents' lofty expectations after the death of the family patriarch.
In this episode, Nora reflects on Sarah's wedding to Luc for the benefit of her radio listeners, quoting Charles Dickens: "It was the best of times, it was the worst of times." On the morning of the wedding, Kevin gets frantic phone calls from Sarah, Kitty, and Paige as he carries out his functions as the official wedding planner. Tommy arrives on schedule, having promised Sarah to walk her down the aisle. Elsewhere, Saul is upset that the cake hasn't arrived and that he and Jonathan are making a pyramid of cupcakes instead. When Sarah visits Nora to pick out her "something old," she has an awkward encounter with Brady, having observed his romantic actions with her mother. Sarah ends up choosing one of Nora's treasured necklaces, not realizing that Brady gave it to her when they were dating. Meanwhile, Kitty tells Seth that she's excited about being pregnant; Seth responds that he doesn't think she should have the baby.
As the Walker men prepare for the event, Justin mentions to Luc and Scotty that Tyler is getting a divorce. Tommy voices his skepticism. Paige is thrilled when Kitty and Kevin force Sarah to change her mind about Andrew being invited to the reception. Later, Kitty confides in Kevin about her pregnancy, as well as Seth's reservations. Kevin later seeks Seth out to tell him that he'll be a good father, leaving Seth feeling vulnerable. When Gabriela arrives for the ceremony, she informs Luc that his father was overwhelmed at work and regrets missing the ceremony. Luc is angry, thinking that Gabriela is responsible for his absence. When Justin meets Tyler at the hotel, he says that they need "space" until she figures out what to do about her marriage.
As the ceremony is about to begin, Sarah panics and goes for a walk. She finds Brady in his camper outside the church. Over beers, she learns that he's silently watched many events in her life, including her high school graduation. She also learns the origin of the necklace that she's wearing. Sarah re-enters the church with her father as he walks her down the aisle. After vows are exchanged, Luc learns that his father was too humiliated to see him, having run into severe financial problems. Luc then makes amends with Gabriela. Kitty tells Nora about her pregnancy, along with the fact that her doctor is concerned about what will happen if her cancer returns. As Jonathan and Saul get raves on their cupcakes, Jonathan proposes and Saul accepts.
Luc sings "Baby I Need Your Loving" to Sarah as he and the Walker men perform a special dance routine. Tyler shows up at the reception, after which she and Justin decide to continue their relationship. As Sarah talks with Brady, she encounters his youngest daughter, Lori Lynn, who crashed the ceremony to force a meeting with her half-sister. Everyone then takes to the dance floor as partners are switched frequently. Finally, Nora concludes her reverie to radio listeners, summarizing the nuptials with a quotation from George Eliot: "It's never too late to be what you might have been." Includes commercials.
