BROTHERS & SISTERS: IT'S NOT EASY BEING GREEN (TV)
Summary
One in this drama series about the California-based Walker family, an adult clan of siblings trying to live up to their parents' lofty expectations after the death of the family patriarch.
In this episode, Saul thinks Nora is falling for Roger, who presents architectural suggestions for her non-profit cancer center. Elsewhere, Sarah tells Kyle and Ethan that she struck out while pitching Greenatopia at a tech conference since she isn't "hip" enough. She tries to compensate with plans for the next night's Greenatopia launch party. Elsewhere, Kevin bemoans Robert's insistence on a hunting trip with Wade Newman and Gordon Alexander, two GOP senators that Robert hopes will back his run for governor. Kitty makes fun of Kevin's disdain for guns while exhibiting her own expertise.
When seeing Paige in a dress that was bought with Nora, Sarah is taken aback by its "grownup" features. Nora intercedes, telling Sarah that she should have "the talk" with Paige. When Sarah insists that the dress be returned, Paige explodes, saying that she hates her mother. Across town, Justin meets the attractive Chelsea at a Narcotics Anonymous meeting and agrees to be her sponsor, despite rules which discourage opposite-sex sponsoring. Meanwhile, Holly raises an eyebrow as Rebecca cancels a date with Justin so that she can continue making gift bags for the Greenatopia party, where she will be working.
Nora is shocked at the proposed cost for her cancer center, due to eco-friendly expenses. Roger says he'll take her to the Greenatopia launch to help her appreciate the features' import. Nora's focus is interrupted as Kevin phones to beg that she help him get out of the hunting trip. When Nora refuses, Kevin accepts his fate and tries to tolerate the senators' digs. After Wade confides that he's not backing Robert, Kevin blows up at them. Later, Robert tells Kevin to apologize, which he does by way of showcasing reasons for the pair to support Robert. Gordon and Wade agree, to Robert's delight.
Justin bails on attending Sarah's party when Chelsea calls for help. At the event, Kyle tells Nora about the benefits of "going green." Nora proceeds to get drunk, but not before flirting with Roger on the dance floor. He takes her to a room in the hotel, where she promptly passes out. Although fumbling her presentation, Sarah gets a commitment from potential investor Arlow Natterson to help fund Greenatopia. As Sarah celebrates with Ethan, he reveals his attraction to her. The two go to a room but Sarah halts their kissing, realizing that she's using him to make herself feel young. Rebecca also flirts with temptation; she brings Kyle to the honeymoon suite that she'd reserved for herself and Justin, but tells Kyle that she loves Justin.
The next morning, Nora, Sarah, and Rebecca meet in the hotel elevator, where each admits to sleeping alone. Rebecca then runs into Justin, and they return to her suite. Sarah confides to Nora that she's feeling old and took it out on Paige. At home, Sarah apologizes to Paige and gives her back the dress. Finally, Nora meets with Roger, whose new budget proposal is forgotten as the two share a passionate embrace. Includes commercials.
