BROTHERS & SISTERS: ON THE ROAD AGAIN {SEASON FOUR FINALE} (TV)

Summary

One in this drama series about the California-based Walker family, an adult clan of siblings trying to live up to their parents' lofty expectations after the death of the family patriarch.

In this episode, Nora volunteers to go campaigning with Kitty when Robert cancels on her. Across town, Sarah can't get out of her depression after Ojai's closing, despite the best efforts of Luc and Justin to distract her. At Ojai House, Scotty and Saul continue working on their restaurant's menu, preparing a tasting menu for the entire family to sample. When Saul connects with an old lover on Facebook, he finds that the man has AIDS. The revelation makes Saul wonder if he can be HIV-positive and asymptomatic despite being inactive for years. Scotty and Kevin insist that Saul make an appointment to get himself tested. Elsewhere, Joe Rawlings wants Robert to release the incriminating tapes on Bill Simmons, though Robert refuses since he fears the move would cause Bill to go after Kitty and her campaign. Robert gives Justin the key to his security deposit box, which presumably contains the tapes, with instructions to give the key to Kitty if anything happens to him.

Sarah joins Kitty and Nora on the campaign bus, and continues to mope as the others work. That night, Kitty finds lies about herself on the internet, and wonders about the source since so many details are highly personal. Nora responds to the insults on line, much to Kitty's dismay. Elsewhere, Rebecca tells Justin that she took the wine-based job and suggests that he go to Haiti and attain school credits for a year without her. Justin counters that he won't let them be separated for that amount of time. Meanwhile, Saul goes for his AIDS test and announces suspicions that the might be infected to the doctor. That night, Kitty, Sarah, Nora, Justin, Robert, and Rebecca join Saul, Kevin, and Scotty at Ojai House. There, Kitty asks Robert about the source of the internet lies. Justin then asks Robert why he hasn't told Kitty about the resumption of his arrhythmia. Robert walks away in anger but soon has an episode that requires an ambulance to transport him to the hospital.

The next morning, Robert rallies at the hospital and admits to Kitty that the internet lies are probably coming from Bill and are meant to hurt him. Back at Ojai House, Nora sits with Saul while he calls for his test results, which he says are negative. Just then, Holly phones the group and tells Sarah and Nora to meet her at Narrow Lake. There, the drilling which was continued due to Nora results in the discovery of a deep aquifer, meaning that Ojai can reopen as a water-based business operation. Holly, Nora, Sarah, and Saul get soaked from the geyser of water as they realize that their fortunes have been saved.

All the principals then head back to Pasadena. En route, Kitty tells Robert to release the tapes which incriminate Bill, while Justin and Rebecca agree to spend a year apart as he goes to Haiti and she takes her new job. Rebecca and Justin then come upon a car pileup and realize that Robert's car collided with an 18-wheeler, which then caused other family members' cars to crash as well. Kevin and Scotty prove to have minor injuries while Nora finds Saul bleeding on the cement. He says none of them can touch him, inferring that he's HIV-positive and he lied about the test results. Rebecca calls Justin to Holly's side, as she is badly injured and they can't get her out of her car. As Sarah rushes around the site, Kitty tends to a bloodied Robert, and fears that he is dead when she can no longer find a pulse. Includes commercials.
