UGLY BETTY: RABBIT TEST (TV)
Summary
One in this comedy-drama series about Betty Suarez, a young Queens woman trying to make it in the fashion industry despite her unglamorous appearance.
In this episode, Wilhelmina and Daniel show off their personal "sacrifices" at Mode after Connor's theft brings the company to its knees. Meanwhile, Betty is living a life of luxury thanks to Matt. Daniel can barely conceal his envy when Matt invites Betty, Ignacio, Hilda, and Justin to a prestigious charity event, the Hartley Easter Egg Hunt. Elsewhere, Wilhelmina takes umbrage when photographer Miles Foster says that her baby looks like Christina. Later, Daniel asks Betty to score him an invite to the party so that he can ask Calvin to invest in Mode. At the same time, Wilhelmina finds out that it's medically possible for Christina to be William's mother, realizing that her future at Mode depends on the outcome.
Betty is unable to get Daniel an interview with Calvin, which she postpones telling him. Instead, Betty confides in Christina, who's distracted by Stuart's pending arrival. At lunchtime, however, Daniel and Matt cross paths and Betty admits to her subterfuge. Wilhelmina consequently tells Daniel that he must start laying off employees. Amanda reacts badly after getting pink-slipped. Daniel explains that the layoffs were the only way for Mode to avoid bankruptcy. Betty then determines to go behind Matt's back to arrange a meeting between Calvin and Daniel. Elsewhere, Christina realizes -- after Marc's meddling -- that the baby probably belongs to her and Stuart.
At the soiree, Betty meets Calvin, after which she smuggles Daniel into the proceedings. Back at Mode, Christina and Wilhelmina have words as they discuss William's heritage, with both ultimately agreeing to a blood test. When Daniel is caught at the Hartley gala by security guards, Matt intercedes and introduces him to Calvin. Daniel makes his pitch for Mode, after which Calvin says he must first don a bunny suit and dispense Easter eggs to a slew of bratty children. Daniel accepts the humiliating assignment, but ultimately gets Calvin to finance Mode. Finally, Wilhelmina and Christina view the lab's results, and Christina is heartbroken to discover that the baby isn't hers. Commercials deleted.
